    I would also add that another detriment to using a DCS is that a common requirement (it may be across the board) is that they will cancel your cards, as well as "manage the debt" (you pay them, they pay the creditors) -- it takes a lot of responsibility out of your hands, is somewhat like babysitting, and may in fact appear as such to a potential creditor.

    thanks man--it is definitely something that can reduce a ton of stress in that area. One thing that i found during this is that i hadn't been straight up, as i should have been, when discussing any expenses that went out. This of course is essential in knowing where the money is going...make sure you're transparent with regards to spending!
